TownsFolk Unveils Major Update: New Mechanics, Structures, Compendium Added

Short Circuit Studio has recently unveiled an exciting new update for their newly launched settlement builder, TownsFolk. Titled "Shadows and Fortune," this update introduces a darker and more immersive experience to the charming pixel-art adventure.

The update doesn't shy away from adding depth to the existing gameplay. Players can look forward to new buildings and challenges that will transform their gaming experience. Among the additions are roaming Barbarians that will heighten the tension in campaign missions and Skirmish mode. Additionally, eight new structures have been introduced: the Altar, the Town Square, the Blacksmith, the Aqueduct, the Bank, the Granary, the Factory, and the Terraformer.

Water tiles are getting an intriguing update as well, with the introduction of the rare Whale, adding a new element to explore. Special Locations are also part of this update, including ancient Obelisks and new Shipwrecks, which enhance the unpredictability of the game.

To help players navigate these new additions, a handy Compendium has been introduced, serving as an in-game encyclopedia. The Exploration System has been revamped, and players now have the option to adjust Campaign Difficulties between Frontier and Survival modes.
