Warzone Mobile Shuts Down: End of an Era

Author: Harper May 26,2025

After just under a year on the market, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is coming to an end. Activision has announced that the mobile version of the popular battle royale game will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content, and has been removed from the App Store and Google Play as of May 18th. If you haven't installed the app by this date, you'll lose access permanently. In-game real-money purchases are already disabled, signaling a clear wind-down of the game.

This unexpected closure marks the end of a high-profile mobile release that sought to deliver the full Warzone experience to mobile users. While Activision expressed pride in how closely Warzone Mobile mirrored its PC and console counterparts, the game reportedly struggled to engage mobile audiences to the same degree.

If you have the game installed, you can still play online post-May 19th. Matchmaking and online play will continue, albeit without social features. There's no set date for server shutdowns yet. The in-game store will remain open, but only for those with existing COD Points—no new purchases can be made.

As a small consolation, players with remaining COD Points can transfer them to Call of Duty: Mobile. Until August 15th, by logging into Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account, you'll receive double the value of your unused Warzone Mobile COD Points, along with additional rewards.

For those who haven't installed or reinstalled the game by May 19th, this is your final chance. After this date, no refunds will be available, and the game will become inaccessible. It's a disappointing conclusion to what was promoted as a significant expansion of the Warzone universe, serving as a stark reminder that even the most successful franchises can face challenges on mobile platforms.
