Insomniac Games Remains Tight-Lipped on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date
Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but notably withheld any updates on the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine. While the studio acknowledged taking on "great projects and a really ambitious roadmap," Co-Head Chad Dezern remained silent regarding specific release dates for Wolverine, neither confirming nor denying a 2025 launch. The company cited a need to "hold on" to the excitement surrounding the project.
Wolverine's Development History:
Initially announced during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase with a cinematic trailer, Marvel's Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5. While Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed in a 2023 interview that the game shares the same universe ("1048") as Marvel's Spider-Man, crossover details remain scarce, limited so far to a Wolverine-themed suit in Spider-Man 2. A ransomware attack in December 2023 briefly exposed some Wolverine development assets to the public.
Insomniac's Current Projects:
Insomniac confirmed the January 30, 2025 PC release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (announced at New York Comic-Con 2025), clarifying that no further DLC is planned. The PC version will, however, include all post-launch PS5 updates. Two editions will be available: Standard and Digital Deluxe.
For now, Marvel's Wolverine remains Insomniac's only confirmed upcoming title. Stay tuned for further updates.
