New Xbox Game Pass Game Confirmed for January 21

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders officially joins the Xbox Game Pass roster on Tuesday, January 21st. While Microsoft unveiled the initial January 2025 Game Pass additions earlier this month, many subscribers noted a relatively sparse lineup.

The first half of January 2025 primarily saw several Ultimate-exclusive games transition to the Standard tier. Notable exceptions were the addition of the original Diablo to PC Game Pass and EA Sports UFC 5 for Ultimate subscribers. Although Microsoft hasn't officially announced the second wave of January 2025 Game Pass games, at least one more title is confirmed.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders will be available as a day-one release on January 21st, initially exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This skiing game offers both co-op and PvP modes.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders isn't the only exciting day-one Game Pass addition in the latter half of January 2025. Following a slower start to the month, the second half boasts three additional day-one releases alongside Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders: Eternal Strands (January 28th), Sniper Elite: Resistance (January 30th), and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (January 31st).

Among these new games, Eternal Strands stands out. Developed by Yellow Brick Games and led by BioWare veteran Mike Laidlaw, this action-adventure game evokes a strong Zelda feel. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy all these new January 2025 titles without extra cost.

February 2025's Game Pass lineup currently appears less substantial. Avowed is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on February 18th, but the rest of the month remains unannounced. Until then, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, and the other day-one January releases.
