Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of the showcase, kicking off the year's Xbox game announcements. The event will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch, beginning at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating around a January 9th reveal.
Confirmed Games:
The showcase has already confirmed three titles:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was initially unveiled in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently speculated.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Canada), known for Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is anticipated at this showcase.
Beyond the Confirmed Titles:
Previous Xbox Developer Directs have exceeded 40 minutes in length and showcased multiple games. The 2024 event, for example, featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, additional unannounced titles are likely to be revealed during the January 23rd event.
