Zenless Zone Zero: A PlayStation Launch Triumph for miHoYo
ZZZ Cracks the PS5 Top 10
Zenless Zone Zero, a free-to-play live-service action RPG, has quickly gained popularity on PlayStation. Following the success of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, miHoYo's multi-platform launch of ZZZ has proven highly effective.
The game's strong performance recently secured it a spot in the top 10 most popular PlayStation games, rubbing shoulders with established giants like Elden Ring and Minecraft. This ranking, according to Circana's "US Player Engagement Tracker Top 10 Titles" report, is based on weekly user engagement (note: playtime statistics were not included in the ranking).
Launched on July 4th, Zenless Zone Zero made an immediate impact, reaching the #12 spot on the PS5 Top 40 most-played games chart within its first week. Furthermore, a PocketGamer.biz report highlighted the game's impressive mobile performance, generating nearly $52 million in gross player spending ($36.4 million net) within its first 11 days. July 5th saw a peak of $7.4 million in consumer spending on the App Store and Google Play.
While not yet surpassing the overall success of miHoYo's other titles, Zenless Zone Zero has firmly established itself alongside gaming behemoths like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Roblox. On the Epic Games Store, the game boasts a 4.5/5 star rating, with players praising its engaging boss battles and compelling narrative.
