Potential Return of Gandhi and Other Historic Leaders

The iconic Gandhi might still join Civilization 7's roster according to revelations from lead designer Ed Beach's February 13, 2025 interview with IGN. While his inclusion isn't immediate, the developer suggested Gandhi could return through future DLC content.

During the interview, Beach clarified why certain civilizations and their leaders didn't make the initial cut. "We haven't forgotten any previous game characters," Beach stated. "There's been significant discussion about absent civilizations like Great Britain or India."

The primary reason for excluding major civilizations like Britain and India stemmed from tough selection choices. "With countless popular options, we needed room for fresh factions that excite players," Beach explained. "While we make difficult omissions initially, we continuously evaluate adding leaders and civilizations through expansions. Gandhi definitely remains a possibility."

Given Civilization 6's extensive DLC history, Gandhi's eventual appearance seems likely. However, the specific timeframe for this classic leader's comeback remains uncertain.
