LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has recently shared the company's ambitious plans to broaden its footprint in the digital realm by venturing into video game development. This strategy involves creating games both independently and through strategic partnerships, marking a significant shift for the iconic toy manufacturer.
"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing," stated Niels Christiansen. This move underscores LEGO's commitment to enhancing its digital offerings while maintaining its core brand values.
Despite this new direction, LEGO will continue to license its brand to third-party developers. For example, journalist Jason Schreier recently reported that TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new LEGO game, possibly linked to one of Warner Bros.' franchises.

LEGO's most notable gaming endeavor to date is its collaboration with Epic Games. Last year, Fortnite introduced a LEGO-themed mode that rapidly became one of the game's most beloved features, showcasing the potential of LEGO's digital expansion.
Over the past two decades, LEGO has been closely associated with the adventure game series developed by TT Games. Although new projects from the studio have been relatively quiet, rumors are circulating about a new LEGO Harry Potter game, inspired by the commercial success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Furthermore, LEGO's partnership with 2K Games resulted in the release of LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game launched last year. This collaboration highlights LEGO's versatility and adaptability within the gaming industry, further solidifying its presence in the digital space.
