Adapted from BOOM! Studios' graphic novel series by Arash Amel, Butterfly blends family drama with international espionage. The series follows David Jung (Kim), a rogue former CIA operative in South Korea whose past decisions resurface violently. When sociopathic agent Rebecca (Hardesty) is sent to eliminate him, Jung must confront the shadowy organization hunting him.

"This project represents my passion for bridging American and Korean storytelling traditions," Kim said. "Our talented cast and crew have created something truly special, and I'm grateful to our partners at Amazon, BOOM! Studios, and 3AD for making it possible."

The creative team includes showrunner Ken Woodruff (The Mentalist, Gotham) co-creating with novelist Steph Cha. The ensemble cast features Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, and Charles Parnell, with special appearances by Sung Dong-il and Lee Il-hwa.

Executive producers include Woodruff, Cha, Kim, John Cheng (3AD), BOOM! Studios' Stephen Christy and Ross Richie, along with original creator Arash Amel through The Amel Company.
