Sony has unveiled exciting details about The Last of Us Part II Remastered for PC, set to release on April 3, alongside new content for No Return Mode on both PC and PlayStation 5. In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Naughty Dog, with the help of support studios Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, detailed the enhanced features coming to the PC version, which follows a year after its PlayStation 5 debut.

Graphics and Performance Enhancements:
- Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution support
- AMD FSR 3.1 and AMD FSR 4 support with upscaling and frame generation
- VSync and framerate cap options, including an uncapped framerate
- DirectStorage support
- Adjustable settings for Texture Quality, LOD Distance Range, Volumetric Quality, Shadow Quality, Ambient Occlusion, and Reflections Quality
Display Options:
- Support for Ultrawide monitors with 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and 48:9 resolutions, compatible with triple-monitor setups
- 4K resolution gameplay
Control Customization:
- Extensive keyboard and mouse control customization with full remapping, primary and secondary bindings, and an adaptive mode for combined keyboard and controller inputs
- Full gamepad support with DualSense controllers featuring haptic feedback
Audio:
- 3D audio support
Sony emphasized that the PC version offers a broad range of graphics settings and presets to optimize performance across various hardware, from high-end PCs to handheld gaming devices.

No Return Mode Updates:
Two new characters, Bill and Marlene from The Last of Us Part I, are being added to No Return Mode, each with unique playstyles:
Bill (Smuggler Playstyle):
- Accesses a custom pump shotgun from dead drops
- Receives double rewards from drops
- Stronger against melee attacks but cannot dodge
Marlene (Risk Taker Playstyle):
- Equipped with a Custom Assault Rifle
- Features "All or Nothing" gambits
- Can reroute her No Return path once per run
Additionally, four new maps are being introduced to No Return Mode:
- Overlook: Set high above Seattle with verticality, site of a Seraphites encounter
- School: An abandoned elementary school where Ellie and Dina face the W.L.F.
- Streets: Located in the overgrown Seattle neighborhood of Hillcrest
- Nest: Familiar to Abby players, set in an Infected-infested building
All new No Return content, along with new Trophies and bug fixes, will be available on PS5 simultaneously with the PC launch via a free 2.0.0 patch.
PSN Sign-In Incentives:
While The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC features an optional PSN log-in, signing in offers additional benefits, including PlayStation overlay and PSN Trophies. Players who sign in will receive 50 in-game points to activate bonus features and a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog's new PS5 game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. This skin is also unlockable for PS5 players through the 2.0 patch using in-game bonus points.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet:
In an interview with Alex Garland, The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann shared insights into Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which has been in development for four years. Set in an alternate historical timeline, the game focuses on themes of faith and religion, featuring Tati Gabrielle as protagonist Jordan A. Mun.

The PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered arrives ahead of Season 2 of HBO's adaptation, where showrunners Druckmann and Craig Mazin have confirmed the return of spores, which were absent in Season 1.
