Space Marine 2 Patch Reverts Nerfs After Fan BacklashFollowing significant negative player feedback regarding Patch 4.0's nerfs, Saber Interactive is taking action. Patch 4.1, released October 24th, reverses the most impactful balance changes. Game director Dmitriy Grigorenko stated that player feedback prompted the reversal, and the introduction of public test servers, planned for early 2025, aims to prevent similar issues in the future.

The negative reaction to Patch 4.0 included negative Steam reviews. Saber Interactive explained that the initial intention of Patch 4.0 was to increase enemy numbers, not their health, to address complaints about the game's ease, even on the highest difficulty. However, this change negatively affected lower difficulty levels.

  • Enemy Spawns: Reverting Extremis enemy spawn rates on Minimal, Average, and Substantial difficulties to pre-Patch 4.0 levels; significantly reduced on Ruthless difficulty.

  • Bot Buffs: Bots will now deal 30% more damage to bosses.

    • Auto Bolt Rifle: +20%
    • Bolt Rifle: +10%
    • Heavy Bolt Rifle: +15%
    • Stalker Bolt Rifle: +10%
    • Marksman Bolt Carbine: +10%
    • Instigator Bolt Carbine: +10%

    • Bolt Carbine: +15%
    • Occulus Bolt Carbine: +15%
