Switch 2 Images Leaked: Joy-Con Rumors Confirmed

Potential Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Leak Surfaces

New images circulating online strongly suggest a reveal of the Nintendo Switch successor's Joy-Con controllers is imminent. While the Switch continues to see releases into 2025, speculation mounts regarding its lifespan. Nintendo's confirmation of a forthcoming announcement by the end of their 2024 fiscal year fuels this anticipation. With a rumored March 2025 launch date for the Switch 2, leaks regarding its specifications and features are proliferating.

Recent leaks, purportedly from third-party developers and insiders, have included detailed images of the console and its controllers. These leaks have consistently pointed towards the retention of Joy-Cons, and now, a new set of images appearing on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit, shared by user SwordfishAgile3472, provides the clearest look yet. The images, allegedly sourced from a Chinese social media platform, showcase the back and side of a left Joy-Con.

The images confirm several previously rumored features. The controllers utilize a magnetic connection system, replacing the traditional rail-based design. The color scheme is revealed as primarily black, with a blue accent on the rail, similar to the original Switch's blue Joy-Con but with a different color distribution. A modified button layout is also visible, featuring noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, and a third, unlabeled button on the back, speculated to be a magnetic release mechanism.

This Joy-Con design aligns with other recent leaks and mockups of the Switch 2. However, until Nintendo provides official confirmation, these details remain unverified. The leaked images, nonetheless, provide compelling evidence supporting existing rumors and offer a tantalizing glimpse into the potential design of the next-generation Nintendo handheld.
