Following community reports that the Creative Studio mode demo contained Denuvo anti-tamper technology, the inZOI development team swiftly addressed the issue. Denuvo has long been a divisive topic among PC gamers, often criticized for potentially impacting performance and limiting user freedom.

On March 26, inZOI Director Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim published an official blog post on Steam clarifying the situation. He confirmed that the Early Access version launching on March 28 will no longer include any form of DRM.

“We initially implemented Denuvo as a protective measure against piracy, believing it would uphold fairness for players who support the game through legitimate purchases,” Kjun stated. “However, after reviewing community feedback, we recognized that this approach does not align with player expectations.”

The director also expressed regret for not disclosing the use of Denuvo beforehand. While acknowledging the increased risk of piracy without DRM, he emphasized that removing it supports greater accessibility and customization—key pillars of the game’s vision.

“We believe offering this freedom from day one will foster innovation and create lasting enjoyment for our community,” Kjun added.

Commitment to Mod Support and Customization

Modding plays a central role in inZOI's design philosophy. The temporary presence of Denuvo raised concerns among players due to its potential to restrict mod installation and content creation.

To address this, Kjun reiterated the team’s dedication to building a deeply customizable experience. “As shared during our Online Showcase, making inZOI a highly moddable game is a top priority,” he said. “Our first wave of official mod support will roll out in May, enabling tools like Maya and Blender for custom asset creation. But this is just the beginning—we plan to expand mod capabilities across all aspects of the game over time.”

Further details on mod tools and community content guidelines will be shared in an upcoming dedicated update.

Final Notes on Launch Plans

inZOI will enter Early Access on PC via Steam on March 28, 2025. A full release is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at a later date, though an exact window has yet to be announced.
