Players Threaten to Quit Infinity Nikki Over Update 1.5 Changes

Author: Caleb May 06,2025

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have finally landed on Steam, but the launch has been overshadowed by a flurry of drama and discontent among its player base. Infold Games’ stylish dress-up adventure, which had been exclusive to the Epic Game Store, was eagerly anticipated by fans. However, the excitement quickly turned to frustration due to a host of technical issues, unexpected design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. In response, the developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the battle over Infinity Nikki continues to rage on.

PC players of Infinity Nikki were thrilled to dive into the game on Steam, only to be met with a barrage of technical glitches, from crashes to general instability that prevented the game from launching properly. While technical issues at launch are not uncommon, the community's frustration extended beyond performance problems.

The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each containing 11 pieces, has caused uproar among players. This means potentially up to 220 pulls – and significant expenditure – to complete these sets. This unexpected increase in piece count, without prior notice, has sparked fears that future outfit requirements will only become more demanding.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. This sudden change, coupled with the ongoing technical issues and new monetization strategies, prompted a significant backlash from the Chinese player community on the social platform RedNote. The movement quickly gained momentum, with players worldwide now calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, alongside negative reviews and uninstalls across all platforms.

Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized the importance of collective action in a call-to-action post, urging players to hold back on pulls for a few days to send a message to the developers. "What I am reminding people of is a decent amount of Chinese IN stylists pledging to not spend/pull on the banners to send a message to the digital income trackers for the game," they wrote. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players."

The community's efforts have not gone unnoticed. Infinity Nikki currently holds a "Mixed" rating on Steam, reflecting the dissatisfaction and warnings to potential new players to steer clear until their concerns are addressed.

The growing boycott led Infold to release an apology letter across their official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improvements in communication regarding future changes. "Thank you again for your support," the message read. "We know we still have shortcomings, but it’s because of your companionship that Nikki can keep pushing the boundaries of imagination. Please give us another chance to let Nikki’s starlight continue shining for all of us, ensuring our sincerity never fades."

Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience

Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho

The apology included commitments to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, alongside compensation of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While these steps are seen as progress, many players feel they fall short of the comprehensive changes they seek.

While some view Infold’s concessions as a victory, concerns linger about the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for new outfits. Despite promises of better communication, it appears that some five-star outfits will continue to demand this high number of pieces.

I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the partial success of their efforts, the community remains vigilant. Reddit user EdensAsmr highlighted the ongoing issue: "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces. Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it."
