According to Remedy's annual report, the highly anticipated Control 2 has successfully navigated through the concept validation stage and is now in full production. This marks a crucial milestone, solidifying the game's progression and bringing it closer to fans eager to dive back into its unique universe.
In addition to Control 2, two other exciting projects are making strides in development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these titles were merely in the preparatory stages, but they've now advanced significantly. However, it's worth noting that the project Kestrel, which was a collaborative effort with Tencent, has been discontinued and removed from Remedy's lineup since May of last year.
All these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has demonstrated its prowess in titles like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy creations.
Budget-wise, Control 2 is pegged at a robust 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and will launch on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak carries a slightly lower budget of 30 million euros. This title will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon release, alongside availability on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 continue to intrigue fans, with their budget remaining undisclosed but confirmed to be AAA-level productions. Both development and marketing for these remakes are entirely supported by Rockstar Games.
