Zenless Zone Zero Tier List: December 24, 2024

HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique mechanics and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all available Agents in ZZZ version 1.1, reflecting the current meta. Note that tier lists are dynamic and subject to change with new content and balance updates.

Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: The meta in ZZZ is constantly evolving. For example, Grace, initially a top performer, has become less relevant due to the introduction of numerous powerful Anomaly units, particularly the overpowered Miyabi. This updated list reflects these shifts.

Quick Links

S-Tier

S-Tier Agents S-Tier Agents excel in their roles, consistently delivering high performance and excellent synergy with teammates.

  • Miyabi: Miyabi's swift Frost attacks and immense damage output make her a top contender. While requiring strategic play, mastering her abilities allows for devastating battlefield dominance.

Miyabi

  • Jane Doe: A superior version of Piper, Jane Doe's critical hit potential on Assault Anomalies significantly surpasses her Calydon counterpart. Despite the inherent slower pace of Anomaly units, her potent Assault capabilities earn her an S-rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Jane Doe

  • Yanagi: Yanagi specializes in triggering Disorder, activating the effect without needing a prior Shock application. Her effectiveness hinges on existing enemy Anomalies, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi.

Yanagi

  • Zhu Yuan: A high-DPS Agent whose Shotshells deliver swift damage. She synergizes well with Stun and Support characters; in version 1.1, her optimal teammates are Qingyi and Nicole.

Zhu Yuan

  • Caesar: Caesar redefines the Defensive Agent role. She provides exceptional protection, significant buffs and debuffs, and scales with Impact for easy enemy stuns. Her crowd control further solidifies her position as a top Support.

Caesar

  • Qingyi: A versatile Stunner effective in any squad with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and rapid Daze buildup, coupled with a substantial DMG multiplier on stunned enemies, make her a valuable asset.

Qingyi

  • Lighter: A Stun Agent with significant buffs, ideal for Fire and Ice characters, ensuring his high ranking.

Lighter

  • Lycaon: An Ice-type Stun Agent relying on charged attacks to apply Ice and Daze. His ability to reduce Ice resistance and boost ally Daze DMG makes him crucial for Ice teams.

Lycaon

  • Ellen: An Attack Agent utilizing Ice for damage. Her synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku is a major factor in her high placement.

Ellen

  • Harumasa: An S-rank Electric Attack Agent, initially a free reward, requiring specific build optimization to unleash his full potential.

Harumasa

  • Soukaku: A Support Agent primarily functioning as an Ice buffer, enhancing Ice Anomaly application and providing significant buffs to Ice units like Ellen and Lycaon.

Soukaku

  • Rina: A Support Agent dealing considerable damage while granting allies PEN (defense ignore). Her high damage output stems from sharing PEN with allies, making PEN Ratio a priority in her build. She also excels at building Shock Anomaly and buffing Shock reactions.

Rina

A-Tier

A-Tier Agents A-Tier Agents are strong within specific team compositions, excelling in their roles but not reaching the consistent top-tier performance of S-Tier Agents.

  • Nicole: An Ether Support, pulling enemies into energy fields and significantly reducing enemy DEF while boosting Ether DMG. Her effectiveness is more pronounced with Ether DPS units.

Nicole

  • Seth: A solid Shielder and Support, but not as impactful as top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche support for Anomaly DPS is less universally beneficial than ATK buffs.

Seth

  • Lucy: A Support unit dealing off-field DMG and providing a substantial ATK% buff. Her DPS potential increases with synergistic character pairings.

Lucy

  • Piper: While primarily reliant on her EX Special Attack, it remains highly effective. Her Assault Anomaly generation synergizes well with other Anomaly units.

Piper

  • Grace: A strong Anomaly Agent, particularly effective at applying Shock and triggering continuous DMG. Her relevance has diminished slightly with the influx of new Anomaly Agents.

Grace

  • Koleda: A reliable Fire/Stun Agent, easily integrated into teams, especially those featuring another Fire character. Her synergy with Ben is noteworthy.

Koleda

  • Anby: A reliable Stun unit with quick and effective combos, but suffers from interruption vulnerability compared to other Stun Agents.

Anby

  • Soldier 11: A straightforward high-DMG Attack Agent whose Basic Attacks are infused with Fire during specific attacks.

Soldier 11

B-Tier

B-Tier Agents B-Tier Agents possess some utility but are outperformed by other characters in their respective roles.

  • Ben: The only Defensive Agent in ZZZ 1.0, offering parrying and punishing capabilities but lacking significant team benefits outside of a Crit Rate buff.

Ben

  • Nekomata: An AoE Attack Agent whose effectiveness heavily relies on team synergy, currently hampered by limited supportive options within her Element and Faction.

Nekomata

C-Tier

C-Tier Agents C-Tier Agents currently offer limited contributions compared to other Agents.

  • Corin: An Attack Agent dealing Physical DMG, excelling against stunned enemies but outperformed by Nekomata and Piper.

Corin

  • Billy: An Attack Agent with limited damage output despite high attack frequency. While useful in quick-swap teams, he's outclassed by many other DPS characters.

Billy

  • Anton: An Attack/Electric Agent with an interesting Core Skill but lacking sufficient DPS to be a primary damage dealer. His single-target focus further limits his effectiveness.
