While not entirely ruling out a Nintendo Switch version, Takuro Mizobe, the CEO of Palworld developer Pocketpair, has voiced concerns about technical challenges that could hinder bringing the game to Nintendo's platform.

Palworld Boss Says Switch Port Improbable Due to Technical Reasons ------------------------------------------------------------------Devs Pocketpair Has Nothing Concrete to Announce Yet
In a recent interview with Game File, Takuro Mizobe shared insights on the hurdles of porting Palworld to the Nintendo Switch and hinted at the game's future developments. Despite not completely dismissing the idea of a Switch version, Mizobe highlighted technical difficulties as a major concern. He mentioned ongoing discussions about potential new platforms for Palworld, but emphasized that Pocketpair currently has no concrete announcements to make.
Despite the high PC specifications required for Palworld, which make a Switch port challenging, Mizobe remains hopeful about expanding the game's reach. He noted earlier this month, "Palworld’s specs on PC are higher than the Switch’s specs. So maybe it’s hard to port to Switch just for technical reasons."
Regarding future platform availability, Mizobe has not confirmed if Palworld could come to PlayStation, Nintendo, or mobile devices. In an interview with Bloomberg earlier in the year, he revealed that Pocketpair is in discussions to bring the game to more platforms. Additionally, Mizobe mentioned that the company is open to partnership or acquisition offers, although no buyout talks with Microsoft have been initiated.
Wants Palworld to Have More 'Ark' or 'Rust' Elements
Mizobe also shared his vision for enhancing Palworld's multiplayer features. The upcoming arena mode, described as "kind of an experiment," is a step towards introducing more multiplayer experiences. Mizobe's ultimate goal is to implement a true PvP mode in Palworld, drawing inspiration from popular survival games like Ark and Rust. These games are known for their challenging environments, intricate resource management, and extensive player interactions, including forming alliances and tribes. Both games offer a mix of PvE and PvP elements, with Ark featuring dangerous wildlife and environmental challenges, and Rust including wildlife and radiation zones.
Palworld, developed by Pocketpair, has captivated the gaming community with its unique blend of creature collection and survival gameplay. Players can capture creatures known as Pals, use them to build bases, and engage in various survival activities. The game achieved remarkable success, selling 15 million copies on PC within its first month and attracting 10 million players on Xbox through the Game Pass subscription service. Palworld is set to introduce a major update with the free Sakurajima update on Thursday, featuring a new island, the much-anticipated PvP arena, and more.
