Nvidia Unveils RTX 50 Series GPUs with DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation at CES 2025

Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote showcased the RTX 50 series GPUs, featuring groundbreaking DLSS 4 technology with Multi-Frame Generation, boosting FPS in 75 games. While initially exclusive to the RTX 50 series, Nvidia confirmed that enhanced DLSS features (Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA) will also be available for older RTX 40 series cards via future driver updates.

The RTX 50 series, codenamed Blackwell, builds upon the Ada Lovelace architecture, significantly enhancing DLSS performance. Multi-Frame Generation, a key feature, promises even greater FPS increases compared to its predecessor. The flagship RTX 5090, boasting 32GB of GDDR7 memory, carries a starting MSRP of $1,999. Other models include the RTX 5080 ($999), RTX 5070 Ti ($749), and RTX 5070 ($549).

Nvidia highlighted the impact of DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation with Cyberpunk 2077 as an example. The game, running with full ray tracing and DLSS/Multi-Frame Generation disabled, achieved under 30 FPS on the RTX 5090. Enabling both features dramatically increased the frame rate to 236 FPS.
