Marvel Rivals Slams 30 FPS Performance Glitch

Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Bug

Some Marvel Rivals heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, are experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings. This 30 FPS bug impacts damage calculations, affecting gameplay for players on lower-end devices. Developers are actively working on a fix.

The issue, confirmed by the development team, disproportionately affects certain heroes like Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine, diminishing the effectiveness of some or all their attacks at lower frame rates. While a precise fix date isn't available, the team is committed to a solution, potentially arriving soon.

Launched in early December 2025, Marvel Rivals quickly gained popularity in the hero shooter genre. Despite initial hero balance concerns, the game boasts an 80% player approval rating on Steam, based on over 132,000 reviews.

The problem appears linked to the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a common programming technique to minimize perceived lag. This mechanism, however, seems to be the root cause of the damage inconsistencies at lower FPS.

A community manager's post on the official Discord server confirmed the issue, highlighting Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities as examples. The impact is more evident against stationary targets than in live matches. While a complete fix might not arrive with the Season 1 launch (January 11th), developers assure players that the issue will be addressed then, or in a subsequent update. The Season 1 update is expected to improve the overall gameplay experience.
